Brian has always been fascinated by the camera. He loved the idea of preserving a moment in time and telling it's story forever. In third grade, he borrowed his mother's camera for a field trip... and promptly broke it. Despite this rocky start, his mother recognized Brian's passion for photography and bought him his own camera for his eighth grade graduation.
Brian put that camera to good use right away and began documenting his friends jumping off ramps on their skateboards, family portraits and gatherings, and interesting scenes he found in everyday life. Skate photography was his first love, in it he found perfect harmony between his two favorite past-times: skateboarding and photography.
While in college in Santa Cruz, Ca, a friend submitted one of Brian's skate photos for publication. Unaware of the submission, Brian was shocked to see his photo published as a full page feature in Thrasher Magazine. That first published photo led to twelve years traveling the world to photograph the world's best skaters and do what he loved.
In 2004 Brian relocated to Brooklyn, NY and expanded his focus beyond skate photography. Today, he finds helping friends and clients capture the special moments in their lives as exciting as capturing a skater land a trick for the first time. Brian collaborates with clients and brings his unique perspective to document all types of events and occasions, including weddings and engagements, birthdays and business events, and family and professional portraits.
When he's not behind the camera, Brian enjoys exploring the City on his bike, playing soccer in Prospect Park with friends, and skating (of course!).
